This aerobatic team of four performs maneuvers such as the bomb burst,
vertical rejoin, avalanche and the breathtaking "switch blade," as
well as graceful loops and rolls.

Army Special Ops "Black Daggers" Parachute Team
The Black Daggers are the official U.S. Army Special Operations Command
Parachute Demonstration Team. Their mission is to perform live aerial
demonstrations in support of Army Special Operations community relations
and recruiting. Comprised of volunteers from throughout Army Special
Operations the Black Daggers have diverse backgrounds and are skilled
in various military specialties including Special Forces, Rangers,
civil affairs, psychological operations and signal and support. The
team represents the professionalism and dedication of special operations
forces.
John
Klatt - Staudacher S-300D
John flies the world famous Staudacher S-300D which was handcrafted
by John Staudacher in the Bay City, MI area. The Staudacher was built
for world class unlimited aerobatics and has competed in several world
contests in many foreign countries. The Staudacher is very light weight
and is built with an all tubular and wood makeup which allows the
airplane to weigh in at 1250lbs. The Staudacher is powered by a Lycoming
A10-540 delivering more than 3300 (That can’t be right) HP and
has the latest Wide Cord MT three blade propeller.

Heritage Flight
The Air Force Heritage Flight program was established in 1997 in
support of the Air Force’s 50th anniversary. It involves today’s
state of the art fighters flying in close formation with a World
War II Fighter. Today’s Heritage Flight features the F-16
Falcon and the P-51 Mustang flown by Lee Lauderback
Dan
Buchanan’s Flying Colors
Dan was a New England home builder and flat-track motorcycle racer,
and enjoyed the thrill of flying off mountain tops, when in 1981;
he paralyzed his legs trying to land in stormy weather.
Despite his handicap, Dan returned to flying within six months, and
since then his tenacity and adventurous spirit has allowed him to
accrue more than 2,800 hours of flight time in hang gliders and sailplanes.
Dan launches with his glider from atop a moving vehicle driving down
the runway at about 30mph with the flag, streamers and bright orange
smoke trailing. He steadily tow-climbs to an altitude of 1,200 -1,800'
while speaking live via a radio link to the audience. Dan has received
two showmanship awards from the air show entertainment industry: -"The
Bill Barber Award for Showmanship" -"Special Achievement
Award" from ICAS.
Freddie
Cabanas - Solo Pitts and J3 Comedy
Cabanas Aerobatics has been doing airshows since 1986. The extremely
low level routine pleases the crowd from the start with an inverted
ribbon cut on takeoff followed by an outside loop. The entire show
is performed beneath a max altitude of 1500 feet. At that altitude
only for a few seconds before tumbling with lots of noise and smoke
to perform many low level high speed maneuvers.

Matt
Younkin - (Twin Beech) Day and Night Acts
Matt Younkin (27) is a third generation pilot. He is the son
of legendary airshow pilot Bobby Younkin, who is famous for his amazing
aerobatic displays in the AT-6, Beech 18, Learjet 23, Samson, and
most recently, the Super Decathlon. Bobby is considered to be
one of the greatest airshow pilots of all time.

F-16 (Viper East) Demo Team (Solo & P-51 Heritage)
Shaw Air Force Base is home to the Viper East Team, one of two F-16
aerial demonstration teams in Air Combat Command. The F-16 Fighting
Falcon, more commonly known to military pilots as the Viper, is a
compact, extremely maneuverable multi-role fighter aircraft. The F-16
has proven itself in air-to-air combat as well as air-to-surface attack.
It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system
for the air forces of the United States and other allied nations.

Darnell - Jet Truck/Flash Fire
Racing airplanes at 450 mph the 12,000 horsepower, fire breathing
Jet Truck with Neal at the controls is a real crowd pleaser. Neal
is having the time of his life as the "pilot" of the "Worlds
Fastest Accelerating Jet Truck" - Flash Fire.
T-38
Formation Fly-by Columbus AFB T-38 Talon
The T-38 Talon is a twin-engine, high-altitude, supersonic jet trainer
used in a variety of roles because of its design, economy of operations,
ease of maintenance, high performance and exceptional safety record.
Air Education and Training Command is the primary user of the T-38
for joint specialized undergraduate pilot training. Air Combat Command,
Air Force Materiel Command and the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration also use the T-38A in various roles.

East Demo Team
The A-10 East Demo Team is back again at the VNA Air show!
The A/OA-10 Thunderbolt II is the first Air Force Aircraft specially
designed for close air support of ground forces. They are simple,
effective and survivable twin-engine jet aircraft that can be used
against all ground targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles.
